Planting design and sourcing

The garden and the building decided together — levels, routes, materials, and what grows where.

The plan names the plants. This is finding out which of them you can actually get, and what to plant instead of the rest.

Supervision

Four to six visits a month while it's being built — staking it out, watching it go in, changing what the ground asks me to change.

Planting

Beds prepared, one van from the nursery, and we plant the way nature intended.

How a project runs

01

Before anything is drawn

Questions before prices. How the site is used, who’s there and when, and who will look after it — the answers change what I specify.

02

On paper

Levels, routes, materials and the planting plan. Two rounds of revisions are included; the drawings are done when you can build from them.

03

At the nursery

Orders go out inside the season's window — from abroad, or closer to home.

04

On site

Setting the design out on the ground — and deciding the things that can only be decided standing there.

05

The day it's yours

A planting passport, a care calendar, and a clear brief for whoever will keep it.

Gardens don’t finish They start

From the moment it's built, a garden takes on a life, changing and evolving.

It'll ask for water, for a blade, for somebody's attention. Everything alive asks for something.

Who answers is the next chapter, and that one's yours — you leave with its passport, its calendar, and a clear brief for whoever will keep it.

A careful exploration of the space allows to notice what needs to be hidden and what needs to be added.
